Role Overview
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading architectural design and documentation at an enterprise-wide level. They ensure the completeness and fitness of SKF’s Enterprise Architecture to support strategic objectives, managing associated risks, benefits, and costs effectively. This role involves leading and coordinating with Domain and Business Area Architects and supporting Solution Architects focused on strategic initiatives within the Enterprise Architecture & Digital Innovation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain SKF’s Architecture “Concept model” and framework.
- Develop and update enterprise-wide architectural artifacts including baseline and target architectures, and architecture roadmaps.
- Design and document architecture at an enterprise scale.
- Generate architecture views and models to aid informed strategic and portfolio decision-making.
- Conduct assessments, analysis, and reviews of architecture related to strategic initiatives.
- Carry out architecture governance activities to ensure compliance and standards adherence.
- Provide support to business areas, domains, and strategic projects.
- Interpret and understand stakeholder requirements.
- Develop useful architectural models that align with architectural principles and guidelines.
- Drive organizational culture toward greater architecture maturity and capability-based planning.
- Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of architectural deliverables.
- Contribute to and enhance the SKF architecture community actively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over 15 years of professional experience.
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines (BA/MSc).
- Leadership or managerial experience within a global enterprise environment.
- Expertise in architecture frameworks, methods, tools, and building actionable architectures.
- Track record of enabling technology-driven business transformation initiatives.
- Effective verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational boundaries.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
