Job description

About Ashby Sales Team

Joining Ashby’s sales force offers a rare chance to promote a highly valued product amid rapid AI-driven market expansion. Trusted by over 5,000 companies including OpenAI and Monday.com and experiencing over 100% year-over-year growth, Ashby is strongly positioned financially and operationally. Nearly a third of the globally dispersed team lives in Europe, with over 100 customers in the DACH region alone, reflecting excellent product-market fit in this important market. Ashby is committed to delivering EU data residency and localized products soon, addressing the needs of modern recruitment beyond outdated software.

Role Overview

The Enterprise Account Executive role in Germany focuses on the sizeable talent acquisition (TA) market, replacing multiple legacy tools with a unified, AI-forward platform. This role requires managing the entire sales cycle targeting enterprise companies with over 1,000 employees, primarily focused on acquiring new logos rather than expansion within existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities & Qualities

  • Clearly communicate complex ideas with precision and clarity.
  • Consistently exceed sales targets, closing numerous deals above €100,000 annually with quotas over €1M.
  • Proactively generate more than half of your sales pipeline independently through resourceful and creative methods.
  • Deliver confident micro-demos of the product prior to involving sales engineers.
  • Conduct thorough discovery conversations to align product solutions with executive priorities and business drivers.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial insight by connecting technical perspectives to business impacts and constructing compelling business cases.
  • Navigate competitive sales environments effectively and evangelize new market opportunities.
  • Guide prospects through the evaluation process, engaging the right stakeholders to build consensus on strategic technology decisions.
  • Tailor expert product discussions to address unique client challenges.
  • Exhibit persistence, action-oriented behavior, and detail orientation in sales operations including timely follow-ups and meticulous CRM management using tools like HubSpot, Gong, Chili Piper, and Apollo.
  • Travel regularly (minimum 25%) to customers and events within Germany and EMEA.

Requirements

  • At least five years closing comprehensive sales cycles with multiple deals exceeding €100,000 ACV.
  • Proven experience selling sophisticated, platform-based SaaS products in sales-led go-to-market models.
  • Strong ability to self-source over 50% of new business opportunities.
  • Experience selling across various EMEA regions with fluent written and spoken German and English.
  • Residency in Germany is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Talent or People leaders is advantageous.

What This Role Is Not

  • This position is not suited for those primarily focused on developing existing account relationships rather than hunting new business.
  • It expects the candidate to independently generate substantial pipelines rather than rely solely on marketing or BDRs.
  • Applicants should be comfortable with product knowledge and not leave technical expertise to sales engineers alone.
  • A creative and growth-oriented mindset is essential—candidates should not prefer rigid playbooks or solo work styles as Ashby promotes collaborative team selling.

Interview Process

  • Initial 30-minute call with a recruiter to assess role fit and address questions.
  • A take-home assignment evaluating outbound sales skills.
  • A 60-minute in-depth discussion with the hiring manager to explore experience and achievements.
  • A 90-minute challenge including a 60-minute discovery and demo role play and a 30-minute deal strategy session.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits aligned with location.
  • A 10-year window to exercise stock options without pressure to buy immediately.
  • Unlimited paid time off with a recommended minimum of four weeks per year.
  • Generous budgets for equipment, software, and office furnishings to support productivity and satisfaction.
  • Monthly €100 education budget with approval pathways for more costly educational expenses including conferences.

Equal Opportunity and Hiring Practices

Ashby is an equal employment opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or other attributes. The hiring process is fair and transparent, and AI-assisted screening tools may be employed to assist recruitment. Direct contact with hiring managers or recruiters outside of the formal application process will not influence hiring decisions.

Compensation

Annual compensation ranges from €230,000 to €300,000.
