About Ashby Sales
Joining Ashby's sales team presents a unique chance to sell a highly rated product amidst rapid AI-driven market growth. Over 5,000 companies, including OpenAI and Monday.com, use Ashby, with business growing more than 100% annually. The company is well-funded and on track for profitability, placing it in the top 10% of companies its size.
Approximately one-third of Ashby's global workforce is based in Europe. Ashby has secured over 1000 customers in the EMEA region, generating nearly a quarter of global revenue. Particularly in the DACH area, there are over 100 customers, demonstrating strong product-market fit. Investments in in-market sales, customer success, and support teams in Europe are increasing, along with upcoming data residency and product localization.
Ashby's platform replaces multiple legacy recruiting tools with a consolidated, efficient solution favored by recruiters and financial leaders. As an AI innovation leader in recruiting, Ashby is expanding its product suite to serve broader industries and markets, providing ample opportunities for new business and account growth.
Role Overview
The company is seeking a German-speaking Enterprise Account Executive to manage end-to-end sales cycles, focusing on acquiring new large-scale clients (organizations with 1,000+ employees) in the DACH region and beyond. This role emphasizes hunting new business and closing deals independently.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Communicate clearly with precision, simplifying complex ideas effectively.
- Proven success in Enterprise SaaS sales with consistent achievement of quotas above €1M and closing multiple six-figure deals.
- Proactively generate more than half of the sales pipeline through creative prospecting.
- Demonstrate deep product knowledge and confidently deliver micro-demos without reliance on Sales Engineers.
- Conduct thorough discovery calls to align solutions with client priorities and business drivers.
- Show strong business acumen by connecting technical challenges with business outcomes and crafting persuasive business cases.
- Skillfully manage competitive and consultative selling efforts in new or established markets.
- Lead prospects through evaluation processes by engaging appropriate stakeholders to build consensus for adoption decisions.
- Become an expert in the product and tailor conversations to address unique client challenges.
- Exhibit persistence, strong outbound activity, and maintain meticulously detailed follow-ups and CRM updates.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings and events.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of full sales cycle experience with multiple closed deals over €100,000 Annual Contract Value.
- Experience selling complex platform-based technologies using a sales-led go-to-market approach.
- Demonstrated ability to self-source at least 50% of pipeline and aggressively pursue new clients.
- Fluency in English and German, with experience selling across multiple EMEA regions.
Preferred Experience
- Background in selling to Talent Acquisition or People leadership stakeholders.
Important Considerations
- This role requires a strong new business focus; candidates who prefer solely account management or rely entirely on marketing or BDRs for leads may not thrive.
- Sales Engineers and technical support are partners, but AEs must develop strong technical understanding themselves.
- A growth mindset and creativity in sales strategy are expected; this role is not suited for those who prefer following rigid playbooks.
- Team collaboration is key; lone-wolf sellers are not compatible with the company's team-oriented sales culture.
Hiring Process
- Introductory call with a recruiter to assess alignment and answer questions.
- Written exercise demonstrating outbound prospecting ability.
- In-depth interview discussing career experience and professional growth.
- Challenge interview including discovery/demo role play and deal strategy discussion.
Benefits
- Competitive benefits vary by location.
- Stock options available with a 10-year exercise period, allowing financial flexibility.
- Unlimited paid time off recommended at four weeks annually.
- Generous budgets for equipment, software, and office furnishings.
- Monthly education budget of €100, with larger expenses like conferences covered upon approval.
Equal Opportunity and Hiring Policy
Ashby is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and provides equal employment opportunities regardless of personal characteristics. The hiring process is transparent and fair, with AI tools used only to assist recruitment teams.
Compensation
Annual salary range for this position is between €175,500 and €261,000.
