ENT Consultant

Job Overview

We seek a qualified ENT Consultant to provide expert medical care in the specialty of ear, nose, and throat disorders. The consultant will be responsible for patient assessments, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, performing procedures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient evaluations including medical histories, order and analyze diagnostic tests, and develop individual treatment strategies for ENT-related conditions.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and carry out specialized procedures or surgeries relevant to the ENT specialty.
• Coordinate with other medical experts and support departments to ensure integrated patient management.
• Maintain accurate clinical records timely and in accordance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Engage in quality improvement programs, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to research to advance patient safety and medical standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and students to foster their professional development.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their families, ensuring informed consent is obtained for treatments and interventions.
• Comply with all hospital policies and Department of Health regulations, including occupational health and safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of an MBBS or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of residency or fellowship training in ENT or a related specialization.
• At least 2 to 3 years of clinical experience following specialization, with specific requirements based on Department of Health tier classifications and hospital standards.
• Holding or eligibility for a valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi license is highly desirable.
• Documentation proving valid medical registration from the last or current practicing country.
• A Certificate of Good Standing from the relevant licensing authority.
• Successful passage of the DOH licensing examination, which may include an oral component depending on specialty.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills alongside problem-solving abilities and a dedication to ongoing medical education (CME/CPD).
• Fluency in both English and Arabic languages is essential; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
