Job Overview
The role of Vendor Development Engineer focuses on identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with vendors specialized in CNC Turning, VMC, Grinding, Heat Treatment, Fabrication, and other specialized processes. The position is open for freshers up to candidates with 1 year of relevant experience and requires a background in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma or BE).
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and establish new vendors for various machining processes including CNC Turning, VMC, Grinding, Heat Treatment, and Fabrication.
- Search for and evaluate suitable machining vendors based on capabilities and cost-effectiveness.
- Interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing procedures pertinent to vendor requirements.
- Obtain and analyze quotations, compare vendor pricing to facilitate cost negotiations.
- Engage in price negotiations and support initiatives aimed at cost reduction.
- Monitor vendor production schedules and ensure delivery timelines are met effectively.
- Regularly visit vendors for job progress review and effective coordination.
- Coordinate inspection processes, manage quality documentation, and oversee dispatch procedures.
- Maintain a comprehensive vendor database and develop alternative suppliers to ensure supply chain robustness.
- Oversee vendor coordination from raw material procurement through to final product dispatch.
Candidate Requirements
- Freshers or candidates with a maximum of 1 year experience are eligible.
- Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Basic understanding of CNC machining, VMC, Turning, Grinding, and general manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel locally for vendor visits; possession of a two-wheeler is advantageous.
