Role Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Deployment Engineering team across the EMEA region. This leadership position requires active hands-on involvement with a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who implement Cohere's North platform within client environments. The role emphasizes impactful leadership, team mentorship, and technical ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers operating across EMEA.
• Oversee full-cycle deployment of the North platform in private cloud and on-premises settings.
• Ensure customer technical success from implementation through to delivery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to refine enterprise AI delivery.
• Guide the team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-level deployment strategies.
• Optimize performance of components such as OpenSearch, databases, and Kubernetes services.
• Establish guidelines for scaling GPU and CPU computational resources.
• Develop scalable processes and technologies to support rapid organizational growth.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering with proven leadership capabilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in deploying enterprise-grade software at scale.
• Strong practical experience in cloud infrastructures including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tooling.
• Proactive problem-solver with a high degree of autonomy.
• Hands-on approach with a strong bias towards execution.
• Experience managing engineering teams in dynamic, fast-growth environments.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Preferred Qualities

• Proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
• Experience working with AI or machine learning infrastructure.
• Background in enterprise security and compliance considerations.
