Role Overview

As the Senior Director of Solutions Architecture for Asia Pacific, you will oversee the Solutions Architecture function for the region, including Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia. You will lead and expand the team, aiming to establish deep regional expertise rather than relying on other regions’ support. Cohere’s clients in APAC span banks, telecommunications, industrial sectors, and governments requiring secure, sovereign AI deployments compliant with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, guide, and grow the APAC Solutions Architecture team to create a robust in-region presence.
• Leverage your industry knowledge, technical authority, and network to secure strategic customer engagements swiftly.
• Take ownership of winning technically critical pursuits and participate in key decision-making processes.
• Define vision, strategic approach, market coverage, and operational processes tailored to diverse APAC markets.
• Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable AI deployments across cloud, hybrid, on-premises, and air-gapped setups.
• Develop standardized solution-selling frameworks, playbooks, and technical delivery models to elevate team consistency and success.
• Collaborate closely with regional sales leadership to jointly manage territories and pipeline.
• Work with Product and Engineering to channel customer insights into platform enhancements and prioritize the APAC roadmap.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 15 years in Solutions Architecture, Technical Consulting, or related fields, with at least 7 years in leadership of customer-facing technical teams.
• Proven experience managing technology organizations across multiple APAC markets, understanding their specific buying processes.
• Demonstrated success in building and coaching high-performing Solutions Architecture or Engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on technical expertise in implementing production AI systems, with the ability to lead architecture discussions and resolve complex issues.
• Commercial acumen to influence strategic deals and communicate business value to executive stakeholders effectively.
• Outstanding executive presence capable of engaging C-suite leaders across business and technical domains.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern AI platforms, including large language models, agentic systems, enterprise integrations, security, governance, and deployment models (cloud, hybrid, on-premises).
• Experience delivering solutions in complex, large-scale, or regulated environments.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience establishing AI, machine learning, or data science capabilities in regulated enterprises and driving their production adoption.
• Deep sector experience in APAC’s financial services, telecommunications, or government sectors.
• Expertise in sovereign, on-premises, and air-gapped AI deployments controlled by customers.
• Background in enterprise AI, cloud platforms, data platforms, or AI consulting organizations.
• Track record of creating repeatable sales and technical methodologies for consistent team performance.
• Proficiency in a regional language besides English is advantageous.
• Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments that require ownership and collaboration across teams.
