About the Role
The Development Infrastructure team at Asana creates and manages the foundational infrastructure supporting the tools and platforms used daily by engineers. This role involves building software that enhances the efficiency with which Asana’s R&D team delivers new products, blending industry-leading approaches with innovative solutions to maintain a high-quality, user-favored experience.
This position is centered in the Reykjavik office with a hybrid office schedule: standard in-person work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, optional work-from-home on Wednesday, and flexibility on Friday depending on team collaboration needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a close-knit team of 3-7 engineers including a technical lead, focusing on delivering significant impact.
- Shape the team’s growth, structure, and interactions with other departments at Asana.
- Drive recruitment and development efforts to expand the team.
- Steer initiatives to enhance development speed and developer experience.
- Guide the organization’s technical strategy around software development tools and infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with a world-class engineering team to enable new development capabilities through infrastructure improvements.
Required Experience and Qualities
- Minimum of 3 years experience managing engineering teams.
- A unique blend of intelligence, empathy, integrity, and technical know-how that quickly builds trust with a technical team.
- Strong focus on maximizing impact for the team and self.
- Capability to contribute valuable insights in both technical and product discussions.
- Mindset oriented toward long-term consequences of decisions.

Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated annual base salary ranges between 16,720,000 and 19,000,000 ISK, varying based on market standards and individual qualifications assessed during the hiring process.
