Overview
Join Coder as an Engineering Manager leading the Agentic Engineering team responsible for developing and enhancing the backend systems that drive advanced agentic development workflows. This role focuses on increasing the reliability, capability, and utility of agents within real-world development environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand the engineering team within the Agentic Engineering organization.
- Define and steer the technical vision across agent harness, integrations, and developer workflow systems.
- Participate actively in coding, architectural design, and implementation decisions.
- Advance agent execution including tool usage, context management, streaming data, and sustained operations.
- Broaden the provider-agnostic architecture to adapt to evolving models and agent capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to transform agent features into practical developer tools.
- Enhance the reliability, efficiency, and maintainability of agentic systems.
- Mentor engineers to elevate technical excellence and clarify priorities and trade-offs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading and developing software engineering teams.
- Strong practical expertise in Go programming language.
- Proficient with frontend frameworks including React and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience constructing systems centered on large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflows.
- Familiarity with model APIs, tool invocation, context management, and agent loop mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent technical decision-making skills and comfort operating amid uncertainty.
- Demonstrated ability to help engineers grow while maintaining high standards of delivery.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Development experience with coding agents, developer tools, or cloud-based development environments.
- Knowledge of multi-agent systems, MCP, or agent-specific tools.
- Experience with remote execution environments, sandboxing, or isolated computation.
- Building abstractions to support multiple AI model providers.
- Advanced expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or Linux environments.
- Contributions to open-source projects or direct customer engagement experience.
