Overview

We are inviting applications for the role of Engineering Lead specializing in Process for C2 Recovery, based in Qatar. The chosen candidate will lead technical and engineering aspects throughout the FEED and EPC phases of a key Recovery Project, guaranteeing compliance with project criteria, international standards, safety regulations, and operational aims. This position supports engineering skills development, assures technical quality, manages contractors, and delivers reliable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the Process Engineering discipline on the C2 Recovery Project across all phases.
  • Review, authorize, and endorse engineering designs and deliverables consistent with standards and project needs.
  • Ensure process engineering adheres to industry codes and corporate standards.
  • Assess technical studies, FEED documentation, detailed designs, and alterations for adequacy and operation.
  • Evaluate requests for technical deviations and design changes, providing recommendations.
  • Offer process engineering expertise during Concept Selection, FEED, EPC, Construction, Commissioning, Start-up, and Handover stages.
  • Contribute to project execution strategies aligned with technical, safety, and operational goals.
  • Participate in technical evaluations for contractors, vendors, and service providers, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Monitor contractor engineering outputs and delivery timelines.
  • Facilitate interface management across disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough technical reviews and risk assessments to support project execution.
  • Maintain plant reliability, operability, maintainability, and safety through engineering solutions.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigations throughout the project's lifespan.
  • Support adoption of technical assurance and standardization across the project.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal departments and external contractors.
  • Advise project teams on process engineering matters, aligning engineering outputs with operational needs.
  • Assist in resource planning, recruitment, competency assessment, and mentoring of engineering personnel.
  • Encourage continuous professional development and strengthen discipline capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 8 years in engineering roles, with a minimum of 4 years in Oil & Gas sector.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in supervisory, lead, or contractor oversight capacity.
  • Experience working with Oil & Gas companies, EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or service providers involved in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, cost control, gating systems, execution planning, risk and change management, interface coordination, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Strong expertise in applying international engineering standards, specifications, and design criteria.
