Company Overview
Metrochem API Pvt Ltd, founded by Dr. N.V. Rao in 2004, is rapidly growing as a manufacturer of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Pellets, and Intermediates. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Maintenance operations throughout the manufacturing plant to ensure peak equipment and system performance.
- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for reactors, centrifuges, dryers, filters, pumps, compressors, vacuum systems, agitators, and other essential process machinery.
- Track equipment performance indicators, analyze breakdown trends, and initiate reliability enhancement projects.
- Drive initiatives for energy efficiency, equipment dependability, and cost-effective maintenance.
- Manage critical and non-critical utilities such as Chilled Water/Chillers, Cooling Towers, Boilers/Thermic Fluid Systems, Compressed Air, Nitrogen Systems, Vacuum Systems, HVAC, DM/Purified Water Systems, and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP/STP), ensuring uninterrupted supply and optimal performance.
- Monitor utility usage, optimize consumption, and ensure compliance with safety and statutory standards.
- Lead electrical infrastructure management including HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, MCCs, PCCs, and electrical distribution, ensuring preventive maintenance and safety compliance.
- Head engineering projects including plant modifications, capacity expansions, and utility upgrades coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to meet quality, timeline, and budget targets.
- Ensure all engineering and utility systems comply with GMP, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and regulatory standards relevant to API manufacturing.
- Support qualification, validation, and documentation processes such as URS, DQ, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, and requalification to maintain compliance and readiness for audits.
- Lead and develop the engineering, maintenance, and utilities teams, set departmental goals and KPIs, and promote training, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement culture.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
- At least 12 years of pertinent experience in API, bulk drug, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering & Utilities within large-scale manufacturing facilities.
- Deep knowledge of GMP, equipment qualifications, validation protocols, EHS, and regulatory compliance.
- Experienced in managing audits from regulatory authorities and customers with strong follow-up on deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.
