Job description

Job Overview

Join a dynamic team focused on pioneering advanced technology development by establishing cutting-edge design platforms for diverse MediaTek projects across multiple verticals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex circuit blocks essential for leading-edge semiconductor process nodes like planar, FinFET, and nanosheet, covering the workflow from schematic netlist to GDS layout.
  • Create and evaluate standard cell libraries involving architectural analysis, power-performance-area (PPA) assessments, and customized cell designs tailored for varied PPA objectives and intellectual property blocks.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers to execute design implementation, ensuring physical verification compliance including DRC, LVS, ERC, and antenna rules checks.
  • Conduct layout extraction and extensive simulations, analyzing performance metrics such as power consumption, leakage, and layout-dependent effects.
  • Coordinate with digital and testing teams to facilitate design implementation and collect silicon-level chip data for validation and analysis.
  • Develop data processing workflows for silicon data analytics, visualization, and application of AI-based regression models.
  • Innovate advanced methodologies for library generation encompassing characterization, kit generation, regression processes, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Perform comprehensive timing, power, noise, LVF variation, and constraint characterizations for both standard cells and complex circuit blocks.
  • Partner with circuit designers and EDA tool vendors to address modeling challenges related to accuracy and simulation performance, particularly for intricate circuit blocks.
  • Lead efforts in new kit enablement and evaluation, including electromigration (EM) and aging characterizations.
  • Engage in data analysis and machine learning applications focused on assessing circuit performance and power efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum industry experience required: 3 years for Master's degree holders or 5 years for Bachelor’s degree holders. Entry-level candidates without prior experience may also be considered.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, or C/C++ for workflow automation, data analysis, and machine learning implementations.
  • Basic familiarity with digital and/or circuit design principles.
  • Strong foundational understanding of IP design, device physics, transistor-level circuit operation, and layout-dependent effects.
  • Experience with test chip design in FinFET and Nanosheet technologies, understanding design rule manuals (DRM), layout rules, physical verification checks, and simulation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
