Engineer I

About the Role

Join The St. Regis Residence on Marsa Arabia Island in Doha, Qatar, as an Engineer I, a full-time position integral to maintaining a luxurious hospitality environment. You will be the first responder to guest maintenance requests, ensuring swift resolutions and excellent communication with guests and team members. This role requires preventive upkeep of tools and various kitchen and mechanical equipment through cleaning and lubrication, as well as routine inspections to guarantee operational safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly address and resolve guests' repair and maintenance issues, communicating effectively throughout.
• Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning and lubrication of tools and mechanical room equipment.
• Visually inspect all tools, machinery, and equipment and operate building and equipment shut-off valves as necessary.
• Manage maintenance inventory and order supplies when required.
• Maintain detailed communication logs of daily activities for seamless shift transitions.
• Apply foundational knowledge in various technical areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building systems.
• Conduct surface preparation, painting, drywall, and trim repairs; replace light bulbs and air conditioning filters; and ensure thorough cleanup.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment and guestroom components including plumbing clogs, electrical switches and outlets, and internet devices.
• Program televisions and manage housekeeping and engineering inventories.
• Adhere strictly to safety policies including the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Support landscape maintenance efforts including repairs and sprinkler system upkeep.
• Use computer systems to input operational schedules and adjust environmental controls.
• Follow all company and safety protocols, report hazards, complete required training, and handle flammable materials safely.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, uphold company asset protection, and provide courteous guest interactions consistent with company standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet shared goals and foster positive workplace relations.
• Safely perform physical tasks including moving objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier with assistance, as well as climbing ladders and stairs.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience preferred in general maintenance with emphasis on interior and exterior surface preparation and painting.
• Prior experience in hotel engineering or maintenance environments is a valuable asset.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
