Engine Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Engine Technician to join our dedicated team responsible for maintaining CH-47 aircraft. This role involves performing maintenance tasks on helicopter engines to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct unit-level maintenance on aircraft engines and associated subsystems.
• Perform maintenance following the CH-47 Operators Manual, Maintenance Test Flight Manual, Check List Manual, and any client-specific directives.
• Identify and resolve malfunctions in aircraft engine systems using appropriate technical resources and adhering to safety procedures.
• Utilize standard and precision measuring instruments and alignment tools during maintenance tasks.
• Conduct operational engine checks, including testing and troubleshooting with diagnostic equipment and test sets.
• Assist customers in procuring and maintaining necessary shop and bench stock for engine repairs.
• Operate and maintain standard and specialized tools, as well as Aerospace Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) and Portable Ground Support Equipment (PGSE).
• Ensure repair and maintenance activities are coordinated and aligned across teams to meet operational readiness targets according to contract requirements.
• Comply with established maintenance protocols and provide accurate reporting to support situational awareness of platform readiness.
• Set daily goals and priorities to achieve aircraft operational readiness.
• Support Maintenance Lead by managing daily engine maintenance tasks and coordinating logistics for parts and spares.
• Adhere to maintenance quality control procedures and standards.
• Conduct investigations and research related to engine maintenance and report findings to Maintenance Lead.
• Coordinate maintenance support activities with the Maintenance Lead.
• Assist with Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) operations as directed.
• Maintain and update maintenance records and documentation.
• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to personnel on engine-related tasks.
• Maintain safety standards for all maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of eight years of experience as an aircraft engine mechanic, including at least two years within the last five years.
• Successful qualification by the relevant U.S. armed forces or equivalent civilian training as an Engine Technician.
• Proficiency in using computer-based interactive technical manuals, maintenance documentation, and aviation maintenance management systems.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers.
• Valid state or government-issued driver’s license.
• Successful completion of an overseas deployment physical examination upon hiring.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CH-47 engine maintenance, specifically Lycoming 714A engines.
• Associate degree in a related field.
• FAA Powerplant License is advantageous.
