Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Endocrinologist will deliver high-quality, ethical clinical services with efficiency and professionalism. This includes managing clinical risks, ensuring strict adherence to clinical governance and quality standards, and maintaining meticulous medical documentation. The role involves comprehensive patient care, from initial consultation through to treatment planning, especially focusing on patients with hormonal disorders.
The candidate will perform endocrinal procedures such as dynamic hormonal testing and provide consultation services for inpatients in their expertise area. They will also participate in emergency on-call duties for endocrinology-related emergencies outside regular hours.
Professional Development and Compliance
Maintaining excellence in medical practice through continuous professional growth for themselves and others is essential. The role requires compliance with all medical regulations, particularly in infection control, patient assessment, and safety protocols. The endocrinologist will also engage in quality assurance initiatives including morbidity and mortality reviews, peer audits, and clinical chart evaluations.
Collaboration and Supervision
Providing education and supervision to nursing staff, technicians, and patients is expected. Participation in departmental activities such as staff meetings, educational lectures, clinical rounds, and hospital conferences is mandatory. Other duties may be assigned by the Head of Department as needed.
