About the Role
The Andersen Partnership is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer with 2 to 6 years of post-qualification expertise to become part of a well-established law firm located in Melbourne. This role offers the chance to engage with a diverse range of employment law matters within a supportive and adaptable workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert advice and representation on various employment law issues such as workplace disputes, general protections claims, unfair dismissal claims, and drafting employment contracts.
- Prepare and assess employment contracts, workplace policies, and other relevant documents.
- Advocate for clients during negotiations, mediations, and tribunal hearings including appearances before the Fair Work Commission and other employment-related bodies.
- Provide counsel on workplace health and safety, industrial relations, and ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Establish and nurture strong client relationships by offering customized and strategic legal advice.
- Support firm growth by participating in business development and networking initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional legal services and share knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between 2 and 6 years PQE specializing in employment law within reputed law firms or in-house legal departments.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and workplace regulations.
- Experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Capability to manage a demanding and diverse caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Client-focused with outstanding interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong personal work ethic and commitment to ongoing professional growth.
