Employee Relations Manager

About the Role

As an Employee Relations Manager at TPG Telecom based in Barangaroo, NSW, you will offer specialized expertise in employee and industrial relations. You will assist leadership in managing workplace issues effectively while ensuring adherence to employment law, workplace policies, and organizational standards. Your knowledge of employee relations, industrial relations, compliance, and legislation will help minimize employment risks, enhance leader capabilities, and foster a positive employee environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to leaders and People Experience Business Partners on matters such as performance management, misconduct, grievance handling, investigations, redundancies, and compliance issues.
• Support interpretation and negotiation of Enterprise Agreements along with driving industrial relations initiatives throughout the company.
• Manage Fair Work Commission cases and employment-related claims, coordinating evidence preparation and stakeholder communication.
• Conduct workplace compliance and wage assessments to identify organizational risks and implement governance measures.
• Create policies, frameworks, and training resources aimed at enhancing compliance, psychosocial safety, and leadership skills.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, or HR managing complex workplace issues.
• Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, employment law, and workplace health & safety legislation.
• Experience in Enterprise Agreement negotiations and implementation, preferably in unionized or agreement-based settings.
• Track record managing Fair Work Commission disputes and conducting workplace investigations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, policy writing, and communication abilities.

Preferred Attributes

• Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, or similar fields.
• Experience in wage compliance reviews or remediation projects.
• Background in psychosocial risk management or working within regulated industries.
