About the Role
Join EY as an Employee Relations Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Auckland, New Zealand. This role is integral to assisting EY's leadership in addressing employee relations issues while fostering a positive, high-performing, and inclusive workplace. As a member of the Oceania Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, you will collaborate with leaders to offer practical guidance, manage cases, and deepen your knowledge of employee relations best practices, employment law, and workplace risk management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with leaders to deliver practical advice on employee relations matters such as performance management, probation, and fitness for work.
- Assist Employee Relations Managers with complex cases involving investigations, restructures, disciplinary processes, and risk assessments.
- Participate in strategic employee relations and talent initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and enhancing the employee experience across the Oceania region.
Required Skills and Experience
- Background in providing employee relations guidance, gained through roles such as HR Generalist, Advisor, or within employee relations teams.
- Solid comprehension of employment legislation, applying pragmatic and business-focused solutions to workplace challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust, influence stakeholders, and prioritize effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Attributes
- Two to three or more years’ experience supporting case management related to performance, conduct, probation, or workplace wellbeing.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with the ability to balance employee experience, business outcomes, and risk management.
- A proactive approach with enthusiasm for continuous learning, collaboration, and process improvement.
- Ability to work independently while positively contributing to a collaborative team culture.
