Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time permanent Employability Job Coach based in Kildare. This position involves leading the local delivery of the EmployAbility contract, providing mentoring and coaching to clients with disabilities to support employment success.
About the Organisation
EmployAbility helps individuals with disabilities find and maintain employment, including ongoing job coaching. The programme is managed by Turas Nua, an Irish Cooperative social enterprise within the FRS Network, dedicated to serving rural communities since 1980.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25 clients concurrently.
- Conduct employment assessments and career planning to identify goals, skills, and create individual employment plans.
- Engage regularly with clients to explore aspirations, experience, capabilities, and potential barriers.
- Build strong, positive relationships ensuring client involvement throughout job placement phases.
- Proactively collaborate with employers to source and secure suitable job opportunities.
- Develop job development strategies to enhance employment outcomes for participants.
- Facilitate workplace adjustments collaboratively with clients and employers.
- Perform environmental assessments to gauge workplace suitability and support needs.
- Coordinate and attend client job interviews.
- Advocate on clients' behalf when necessary.
- Provide support to employers, supervisors, and co-workers via in-person or phone contact as appropriate.
- Respond promptly to any client wellbeing issues.
- Uphold professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
- Operate autonomously with a flexible schedule, which may include work beyond regular office hours.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with clients, staff, and employers.
- Accurately record client progress and maintain comprehensive casework documentation using organizational reporting systems.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent through experience.
- Prior experience working with people with disabilities.
- Knowledge of local and national disability services.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Full clean driving licence with access to a car, which is essential for this role.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
