Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Elixir Software Engineer to join the core of our tech team. As part of a community of over 350 engineers involved in software development, infrastructure, operations, and security, you will help build scalable, meaningful solutions that revolutionize the insurance sector.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable, reliable, and modular services following industry best practices.
• Work closely with product managers, engineering leads, and stakeholders to transform business needs into software deliverables, define project schedules, and estimate required resources.
• Conduct code reviews, uphold coding standards, debug complex issues, and ensure software quality and optimal performance.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and tools, advocate their adoption when beneficial, and foster a culture of continual learning and growth within the team.

Requirements

• Proven extensive experience in backend development, with deep understanding of event-driven architectures, microservices, and domain-driven design principles.
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Highly motivated, proactive, accountable, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for learning and self-improvement.
• Prior experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good familiarity with functional programming languages.
• Professional experience with Rust or Elixir is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with test-driven development (TDD), Event-Sourcing, and Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) patterns.
• Exposure to messaging platforms like RabbitMQ or Kafka.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges between £50,000 and £95,000.
