The Lana, part of the Dorchester Collection in Dubai, is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our Engineering & Maintenance team on a permanent full-time basis. Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical equipment ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and testing of all electrical systems, including disassembly, replacement, cleaning, and repair.
• Assemble and dismantle power and lighting equipment for various events such as exhibits, meetings, and banquets.
• Complete electrical maintenance requests promptly from all departments and participate in preventive maintenance programs for building equipment and rooms.
• Respond effectively to guest calls and emergency situations, ensuring outstanding guest experiences.
• Maintain the engineering area clean and organized; coordinate closely with other engineering staff for seamless operations.
• Report serious maintenance issues, unusual situations, or safety hazards immediately to management.
• Implement Dorchester Collection policies, standards, and procedures related to engineering practices consistently and fairly.
• Commit to working accident-free and maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or completion of a 2-year trade course in electrical disciplines.
• Technical certifications such as Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical/HVAC-R Technician or equivalent licensure are required.
• A minimum of 3 years of facility management experience, including at least 1 year in an international 5-star luxury hotel environment.
• At least 2 years of direct hands-on experience as an Electrician or in a similar role; pre-opening hotel experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in maintaining and repairing various MEP systems and electrical equipment using relevant tools and materials.
• Strong ability to read and interpret building, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical drawings.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities, adept at organizing information logically and systematically.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively within a team.
• Exceptional communication skills combined with a strong customer service orientation.
• Fluency in English is essential for effective communication within the hotel environment.
