Electrician

Position Overview

Join Fairfield Inn & Suites as an Electrician responsible for addressing guest maintenance requests and ensuring smooth operation of hotel equipment and facilities. This full-time role is onsite at Bardez, Goa, and requires proactive communication with guests and colleagues to resolve issues efficiently.

Primary Duties

• Respond promptly to guest repair needs and communicate effectively to resolve maintenance concerns.
• Conduct preventive upkeep on tools and critical equipment in kitchen and mechanical rooms including cleaning and lubrication.
• Perform visual inspections of tools and mechanical devices for potential faults.
• Operate and identify all shut-off valves and building utility controls accurately.
• Maintain inventory for repair materials and request necessary supplies in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with shift teams by reporting daily activities and issues using designated communication systems.
• Develop knowledge or apply skills in multiple technical areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen appliances, vehicle maintenance, and energy management.
• Carry out painting tasks, drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and air conditioning filter replacements, ensuring thorough cleanup post-work.
• Troubleshoot, test, and conduct basic repairs on various equipment including plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and guestroom amenities.
• Program televisions and assist with housekeeping and inventory functions related to engineering.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures to maintain safety during maintenance activities.
• Handle interior and exterior landscaping repairs and sprinkler system upkeep.
• Employ basic computer skills to manage HVAC schedules and adjust environmental controls.
• Comply fully with company safety and security protocols; report hazards and complete required safety training.
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality and protection of company property.
• Welcome guests per company standards and address their needs attentively and courteously.
• Engage collaboratively with team members, communicate professionally, and contribute to achieving group objectives.
• Physically able to handle objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance; comfortable with activities involving bending, climbing, reaching, and using computers.
• Perform additional reasonable duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent, experience in general maintenance and painting, especially in hotel engineering or maintenance sectors.

Required: Valid Driver’s License; prior supervisory experience is not required.
