We provide fully branded company vans and fuel cards for business travel.

The role involves hands-on electrical repair, testing, fault diagnosis, installations, and maintenance across residential and communal properties. You will work autonomously and as part of a team and be responsible for preparing empty homes for new occupants and conducting planned maintenance and safety checks, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and first-time right outcomes.

Provided equipment includes a mobile phone and tablet for job management, progress updates, and certification documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical repairs, maintenance, fault finding, testing, and installations in residential and communal settings.
  • Complete electrical tasks independently, adhering to BS 7671 standards and company policies.
  • Identify and diagnose electrical faults accurately; escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Ensure timely, accurate completion of all relevant electrical certifications and paperwork.
  • Manage work orders efficiently, including follow-up jobs, cancellations, and status updates.
  • Inspect and report unsafe installations or any potential compliance risks.
  • Maintain vehicle stock and record material usage to maximize resource efficiency.
  • Provide clear communication and status reports for any outstanding or incomplete jobs.
  • Engage professionally with residents to inform them about ongoing work and access needs.
  • Leave work sites safe, clean, and tidy after job completion.
  • Operate company vehicles responsibly, ensuring they are clean and roadworthy.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Extensive experience in electrical repairs, installation, testing, and inspection, ideally within responsive maintenance or social housing sectors.
  • Proficient in electrical fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of domestic and communal electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety laws and safe working practices.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 and electrical safety standards.
  • Capable of accurately completing all relevant electrical certifications.
  • Good communication and customer service abilities.
  • Organised and able to efficiently manage tasks in dynamic work environments.
  • Competence in using PDAs, mobile digital tools, and repairs management software.
  • Must hold an NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (or equivalent) with AM2 assessment where applicable, or an ECS Gold Card at Installation or Maintenance Electrician level.
  • Possess a Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018).
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations.
  • Experience in the social housing sector.

Benefits and Working Conditions

  • Annual salary of £47,261.
  • 25 days annual leave, with increments for length of service, plus Christmas closure and purchase options.
  • Generous pension plan offering up to 9.5% employer contributions via salary sacrifice.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave options.
  • Health cash plan covering up to £1,800 for routine health expenses, including free children's cover.
  • Life insurance and income protection.
  • Flexible working arrangements including hybrid options, modern office facilities, free parking and EV charging stations.
  • Mental Health First Aiders support.
  • Car leasing options through salary sacrifice for permanent employees, subject to conditions.
  • Funded training, apprenticeships, and qualifications.
  • Three paid volunteering days to contribute to local communities.
