Electrician

Overview

An educational institution located near Andover is seeking a qualified Electrician for a full-time permanent role. This position entails the installation, routine maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of the school's electrical infrastructure and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, test, certify, and maintain electrical wiring, devices, and machinery.
• Manage and service both three phase and single phase control equipment for systems such as motors, pumps, and fans.
• Conduct inspections, diagnoses, and thorough testing of electrical setups.
• Support the IT department by handling wiring and cabling tasks.
• Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) regularly.
• Organize and oversee scheduled electrical testing procedures.
• Keep detailed records of all testing and certifications performed.
• Ensure the school's electrical compliance by maintaining registration with the NICEIC or equivalent regulatory body.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Certified Electrician.
• Proficient knowledge of installation standards based on BS 7671.
• Holds Level 3 qualifications in inspection, testing, and installation of electrical systems.
• Experienced in Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR).
• Ability to develop and follow Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
• Capable of conducting emergency electrical triage when necessary.
• Possession of personal transportation due to the rural location of the workplace.

Additional Details

• Competitive remuneration ranging between £33,000 and £40,000, negotiable based on experience.
• Working hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
• 28 days annual leave in addition to public holidays.
