Electrical Trade Assistant

Overview

Join a prominent commercial project contributing to the construction of the new Timaru Museum and Theatre. This position entails collaborating with skilled electrical tradespeople to assist in installing mains and control cabling, supporting mechanical services switchboards, and working with BMS control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in laying mains and control cables
• Provide support for electrical installations relating to mechanical and hydraulic equipment
• Install cable trays, brackets, and wiring supports effectively
• Assist with activities involving mechanical services switchboards and BMS controls
• Interpret and follow plans, drawings, and specifications accurately
• Carry out cable laying, rough-ins, and position equipment as required
• Operate hand and power tools adhering to safety protocols

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior exposure as an Electrical Trade Assistant
• Capability to read and understand construction drawings
• Hands-on experience with cable installation and containment systems
• Strong dedication to workplace health and safety standards
• Holding a Site Safe Passport is favorable
• Dependable transportation and a strong work ethic
