Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Operator to join our Manufacturing Operations team in a busy, yet collaborative and inclusive environment based in Bolton. This role involves testing and certifying a variety of electrical hardware assemblies, including small fixtures and complex missile systems, throughout their lifecycle, ensuring programme goals for time, cost, and quality are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing of completed electrical hardware in line with drawing specifications and requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organized workplace adhering to 5S practices.
- Consistently meet established timeframes, budgets, and quality standards for deliverables.
- Ensure production costs are managed effectively within assembly units.
- Uphold high standards of workmanship and product quality during manufacturing processes.
- Complete all necessary manufacturing documentation accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with Operators, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of an Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Apprenticeship at Advanced Level or Level 3 Standard.
- Possess Level 3 academic qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing (e.g., ONC, diploma).
- Hold a Level 3 vocational qualification such as an NVQ in Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing.
- Proficient in interpreting assembly drawings and planning instructions.
- Experienced with manufacturing tools, equipment, and measurement instruments.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Committed to delivering high-quality results and willing to go above and beyond to complete tasks.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Additional Information
- Salary offered is £42,558 per annum.
- The role requires working five days per week on-site due to workload requirements.
- Candidates must be British citizens or dual UK nationals holding British citizenship.
- Successful applicants will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks post-offer.
