Electrical Engineer - Project Execution

Overview

Chamunda Electromech Private Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in project execution to oversee and coordinate all electrical aspects from initial planning through installation, testing, commissioning, and handing over completed projects. This role requires ensuring that all electrical tasks adhere to safety standards, budget constraints, timelines, and quality benchmarks, following approved technical documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement electrical work plans based on project timelines and verified drawings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless project progress.
• Evaluate electrical schematics, bills of quantities (BOQs), specifications, and project requirements thoroughly.
• Supervise installation of electrical systems including cabling, cable trays, panels, lighting fixtures, earthing, and power distribution.
• Oversee site progress to ensure activities align with established schedules.
• Manage procurement, inspection, and onsite availability of materials.
• Confirm the quality and quantity of materials used as well as completed electrical installations.
• Coordinate and supervise testing phases including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and operational start-up.
• Draft and assess method statements, inspection documents, checklists, and technical reports.
• Address technical challenges on site and execute corrective measures efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to electrical codes, safety regulations, quality standards, and project-specific specifications.
• Monitor subcontractors’ work quality, manpower deployment, productivity, and progress status.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, test reports, and handover records.
• Participate actively in site meetings and update project management regularly on progress.
• Assist in quantity measurements, billing processes, variation claims, and material balance reconciliation.
• Drive timely project completion and manage successful handover procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in managing electrical project execution, preferably within industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or EPC environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and onsite execution methodologies.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, BOQs, and technical specifications accurately.
• Comprehensive knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems including panels, transformers, cabling, earthing, and lighting equipment.
• Well-versed with electrical safety standards, regulatory codes, and quality control protocols.
• Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving capabilities along with strong site management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; familiarity with project scheduling software is advantageous.
• Flexibility to travel and work onsite at various project locations as required.
