Role Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in power and energy to join our team in Hamilton. This role involves delivering electrical design engineering and expert technical guidance on multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate will support client needs, help foster client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the power and energy sector through superior service.
You will leverage your technical expertise in electrical design and support project delivery while enhancing your capabilities in power generation, renewable technologies, transmission, and distribution. We encourage and mentor candidates towards achieving Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) accreditation.
Qualifications and Experience
- A qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- At least three years of professional experience working with electrical systems for Engineers, with openings also for Senior Engineers holding over ten years of experience.
- Proven skills in designing high voltage (HV) or medium voltage (MV) power systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of New Zealand electrical codes and standards.
- Proficiency in electrical design modeling software.
- Excellent report writing, communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- A client-focused approach coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple demands and meet deadlines.
