Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer based in Glasgow who will be responsible for managing and implementing BIM processes for electrical engineering projects. This role requires enforcing BIM standards, preparing Revit models, and coordinating across multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and compliance throughout project stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, update, and enforce project-specific and organizational BIM standards aligned with industry best practices.
- Manage required Levels of Detail (LOD), Level of Information (LOI), and Construction-Operations Building information exchange (CoBie) data per RIBA stage according to project specifications.
- Create and implement Revit models at project initiation using established templates and develop new ones as needed.
- Prepare clash detection reports and maintain responsibility matrices to support coordination.
- Conduct internal and external BIM audits to maintain project quality.
- Deliver training sessions to internal teams to uphold BIM standards and quality control.
- Operate independently or as part of a team, with accountability to the line manager.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary design team members and attend meetings when required to facilitate project goals.
- Manage workload effectively to meet project deadlines and requirements.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external design teams.
- Participate actively in compliance with RSP Business Management Systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working within an MEP environment.
- Proficient in Revit with experience on multidisciplinary projects.
- Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) and proven experience using 3D coordination software such as Navisworks.
- Strong communication skills with confidence engaging with design teams.
- Knowledge of industry design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MagiCAD.
- A strong work ethic demonstrating pride and commitment to delivering high-quality information to clients and teams.
Additional Requirements
- Possession of a valid UK driving license.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Preparedness to travel within the UK, which may involve early starts, late finishes, and occasional overnight stays.
