Job description
Role Overview
The Electrical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, implementation, and upkeep of electrical systems and related equipment. Collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders, the engineer ensures that all electrical components comply with technical standards, safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and regulatory mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and evaluate electrical systems, circuits, and related technological solutions.
- Create and review technical documentation including electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and calculations.
- Perform testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and evaluations of electrical system performance.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems and hardware.
- Diagnose electrical problems, identify root causes, and propose effective corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to electrical design standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to manage electrical aspects of projects.
- Track project progress, technical needs, material availability, and delivery pertaining to electrical work.
- Engage in site inspections, project meetings, testing sessions, and reviews as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive technical records, including reports, drawings, and documentation.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements aimed at enhancing system reliability, efficiency, safety, and overall performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated solid knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, power systems, circuits, control systems, and equipment.
- Understanding and compliance with applicable electrical standards, safety codes, and engineering practices.
- Competency in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and pertinent electrical engineering software.
- Experience or familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PLC, and SCADA considered advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking with effective troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Attention to detail with a firm commitment to safety and quality assurance.
- Good communication abilities, both written and oral.
- Capability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Professionalism, responsibility, proactiveness, and eagerness to adopt new technical methodologies and innovations.
