Electrical Design Engineer – LV Switchgear

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Low-Voltage (LV) Switchgear to join our team in Doha, Qatar. This full-time position focuses on creating and developing LV switchgear and electrical control panels tailored to project demands, adhering strictly to IEC standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design LV switchgear and various control panels including MDB, SMDB, MCC, ATS, and DB to fulfill project criteria.
• Develop comprehensive electrical design documentation such as detailed drawings, schematics, layouts, and shop drawings necessary for manufacturing and installation.
• Evaluate technical specifications, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and overall project documentation.
• Ensure all electrical designs comply fully with IEC standards and project requirements.
• Engage collaboratively with project teams including production, procurement, and site personnel to address and solve design-related challenges.
• Perform thorough reviews and incorporate amendments based on client, consultant, or other project inputs.
• Assist in the generation and management of accurate technical documentation, guaranteeing timely submission of all drawings in alignment with project timelines.

Candidate Profile and Skills

• Possess a bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Have between 3 to 7 years of practical experience in electrical design with an emphasis on LV switchgear, control panels, panel manufacturing, or electrical contracting.
• Demonstrated expertise working with MDB, SMDB, MCC, ATS, DB, and other control panel designs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other specialized electrical design and drafting software.
• Strong understanding and application knowledge of IEC standards and established electrical design protocols.
• Skilled at reading, interpreting, and creating electrical drawings, circuit schematics, and single-line diagrams.
• Detail-oriented with excellent coordination and project time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior involvement with projects in Qatar or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
• Experience within switchgear or panel manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with client and consultant approval processes and technical project documentation standards.

Compensation & Benefits

• Monthly salary ranges between QAR 7,000 and 8,000, commensurate with experience and suitability.
