Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Red Chair Recruitment is inviting applications for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to become part of their client’s team. The selected candidate will be in charge of designing and coordinating electrical systems used in specialist industrial heating, ventilation, and air filtration equipment applied in diverse sectors such as industrial, medical, retail, and large commercial environments.

This role is an excellent fit for seasoned electrical designers aspiring to take on more client-oriented coordination duties or qualified electricians aiming to transition from hands-on roles to electrical design and project management careers.

The position is located onsite in Macroom, County Cork, Ireland, within reasonable commuting distance from Killarney and Millstreet. The successful candidate will possess solid technical expertise, excellent communication abilities, and strong organizational skills, with a confident approach to client interaction and project coordination throughout design and installation phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage electrical design projects starting from initial requirements through to project completion.
• Create, review, and modify electrical drawings, including schematics and circuit designs.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and develop feasible technical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, production, and installation teams to ensure effective delivery of designs.
• Choose and specify suitable electrical components, control devices, and related systems.
• Detect and resolve any electrical design and circuit related challenges.
• Ensure all designs meet project standards, applicable electrical codes, and practical installation needs.
• Offer technical advice and assistance to clients and internal teams throughout project timelines.
• Manage design revisions ensuring clear communication to all involved parties.
• Support project schedules by ensuring design deliverables are accurate and timely.

Required Skills and Experience

• Formal credential in Electrical Design is mandatory.
• Proven background in HVAC, ventilation, industrial equipment, or comparable engineering settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical design fundamentals, circuits, and control methodologies.
• Capability to accurately read, draft, and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong familiarity with electrical components, control gear, and electrical system applications.
