EHS Supervisor

Role Overview

The position requires an ARAMCO-certified Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor with experience specific to the Oil and Gas industry. The candidate will be responsible for preparing crucial EHS documentation including plans for emergency responses, risk assessments, and others.

Key Duties

• Participate actively in all EHS meetings alongside clients and project staff.
• Report any EHS issues directly to the Head Office.
• Deliver induction training on EHS protocols to newly recruited workers.
• Perform daily EHS inspections throughout assigned zones to ensure compliance.
• Verify that working permits are appropriately obtained by engineers and supervisors from clients or main contractors.
• Carry out risk assessments on-site and notify site engineers or clients regarding high-risk areas.
• Ensure engineers conduct effective weekly toolbox talks to boost EHS awareness among workers.
• Make certain all workers use necessary personal protective equipment, including helmets, safety shoes, and coveralls.
• Confirm that tools like ladders and scaffolding are safe and in proper working order before use.
• Maintain health and hygiene standards including sufficient water supply, designated rest areas, adequate lighting, and ventilation for workers.
• Promote good housekeeping practices on the project site to prevent accidents and incidents.
• Conduct job-specific EHS analyses particularly for high-risk tasks to reduce hazards.
• Motivate workers and engineers to consistently follow EHS practices.
• Carry out investigations with engineers into any accidents or incidents, regardless of severity, and communicate findings clearly to all involved for preventive measures.
• Provide first-aid and coordinate medical care promptly following any injuries on site.
• Keep thorough and updated documentation related to all EHS activities.

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, evaluate, and coordinate enhancements to integrated health, safety, and environmental management systems aligned with ISO-45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards for construction projects.
• Revise procedure manuals and conduct internal audits to comply with the aforementioned standards.
• Organize and conduct training sessions on various EHS topics for both site engineers and workers as well as corporate HR training programs.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for critical activities, ensuring method statements reflect these findings.
• Prepare detailed EHS Plans and Environmental Management Plans.
• Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party equipment inspections.
• Design and implement Emergency Preparedness Plans and carry out emergency drills.
• Support the implementation and adherence to the Work Permit System.
• Coordinate occupational health and welfare initiatives on site.
• Set EHS contractual requirements and conditions for subcontractors.
• Exercise authority to halt work immediately if unsafe practices occur and foster a proactive safety culture amongst all personnel.
• Conduct monthly project risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
• Prepare and submit EHS performance reports to the project head and IC head to provide current status updates.
