Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II to join our Singapore team. This role involves implementing and managing comprehensive EHS programs across Labcorp's operations, focusing on regulatory compliance, employee health and safety in laboratory settings, emergency preparedness, hazard control, risk management, environmental stewardship, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and sustain EHS initiatives relating to biosafety, chemical safety, occupational health, ergonomics, radiation safety, and exposure control measures.
  • Create, revise, and uphold policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), compliance files, and chemical hygiene plans related to EHS.
  • Perform workplace inspections, audits, and risk evaluations to ensure adherence to regulations and foster continuous improvement in EHS practices.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, exposures, and near-miss events, including root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Conduct EHS training sessions, safety orientations, refresher courses, and promote a proactive safety culture across the site.
  • Support regulatory inspections and interactions with relevant agencies, manage environmental reporting, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage hazardous waste procedures, chemical storage and disposal, spill prevention initiatives, emergency response, and waste reduction efforts.
  • Coordinate safety programs for contractors, permit-to-work processes, fire drills, evacuation exercises, and activities of the EHS committee.
  • Track and analyze EHS metrics, audit outcomes, and trends; prepare management reports and performance dashboards.
  • Collaborate closely with site leadership, staff, vendors, and EHS teams to maintain safe operations and environmental compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant biomedical or technical field is required, or alternatively, at least 8 years of relevant EHS experience with demonstrated knowledge in regulatory inspections, EHS program support, and laboratory safety.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in EHS roles, ideally within laboratory or research and development settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental disciplines, or specialized trainings in radiology, biological safety, chemical management, or occupational health are favorable.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development and continuing education is expected if minimum certification requirements are not met.
