EHS Specialist I

Position Overview

The Quality, Lean & Health, Safety & Environment (EHS) Specialist will lead and coordinate quality management, lean continuous improvement, and EHS initiatives at the manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster a strong safety culture by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor, coaching employees, engaging teams, and proactively identifying hazards.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Drive performance in health, safety, and environmental areas by managing training programs that adhere to compliance standards.
• Offer technical and quality management expertise to support operational excellence.
• Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near misses, uncover root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Develop, implement, and uphold EHS policies, programs, and procedures aimed at safeguarding personnel.
• Perform audits, inspections, and workplace investigations aligned with government regulations, industry benchmarks, and corporate policies.
• Maintain all necessary permits, documentation, and records to ensure preparation for audits and inspections.
• Assist warranty management by providing technical input and cost estimates for warranty work.
• Monitor team performance relating to issue resolution costs.
• Apply EHS, quality, and lean manufacturing standards rigorously.
• Focus on reducing workplace injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions by implementing prevention-oriented programs.
• Conduct incident investigations in a timely manner and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
• Track and report on key performance indicators relevant to EHS and quality.
• Keep accurate, audit-ready documentation for internal, external, or regulatory checkups.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant education meeting minimum entry requirements.
• Qualifications in Health & Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in supporting or leading efforts related to local manufacturing legislative standards, internal and external audits, contractor management, and permit-to-work systems.
• Involvement in behavioural safety initiatives and emergency preparedness and response.
• Strong communication skills capable of engaging staff across all levels and disciplines effectively.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to influence others positively.
• In-depth understanding of local health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
• Competence in hazard identification, risk assessment, and controlling occupational risks effectively.
• Expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and managing corrective actions.
• Skilled in developing and reviewing risk assessments, safe working systems, and operational procedures.
• Experience delivering workplace safety training, toolbox talks, and practical guidance to operational teams.
• Capability in audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with EHS management systems.
