About the Role

Bedford Borough Educational Psychology Service is currently expanding as part of the ambitious Experts at Hand initiative. We invite Educational Psychologists who are passionate about making a substantial impact on children, young people, families, and schools to join our growing team.

We have established strong partnerships with schools; 97% opt to purchase additional Educational Psychology support. Our service is known for its psychological approach and its positive effects on children's outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Our Educational Psychologists carry out statutory duties along with involvement in consultation, training, organizational development, research, and strategic SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) projects. This allows for practicing psychology at various levels, including individual, group, systemic, and strategic.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a recognized postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology
• Registration or eligibility to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) prior to commencement
• Dedication to improving outcomes for children and young people
• Excellent skills in communication and relationship-building
• Ability to collaborate effectively with schools, families, and multi-agency partners

Additional Information

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, thus the successful candidate must disclose any spent or unspent convictions or adult cautions not protected under the relevant exceptions order.
