Job description
Overview
Cactus Communications provides expert language editing services to help researchers communicate their findings clearly and successfully publish their work. This role is suited for individuals with a strong academic background who enjoy engaging with advanced research and who can improve scientific writing effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and edit scientific manuscripts to enhance clarity, coherence, and overall readability while maintaining the authors' original meaning.
- Verify that scientific terms, conventions, and arguments are accurate, consistent, and appropriate for the intended reader base.
- Enhance the presentation of complex research results to improve communication and readiness for publication.
- Ensure that manuscripts meet top academic writing standards, removing unclear or illogical language and formatting content according to target journal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree (PhD) in Biomedical Informatics, Health Informatics, or Bioinformatics is essential.
- Proven publication history with 5 to 10 or more first-author articles.
- Experience in peer review processes.
- Competence in critically analyzing study designs, methodologies, statistics, and data interpretation.
- Ability to rigorously evaluate scientific content for discipline-specific precision.
- Exceptional written English skills with keen attention to detail.
- Previous involvement in scientific editing or academic publishing is advantageous.
