ED Security Officer

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The ED Security Officer role involves safeguarding our client's property, personnel, and assets by providing security services strictly adhering to the site's Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any updates. The role demands accountability for meeting or surpassing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to help retain the contract. Continuous self-improvement through additional training is expected.

Main Duties

• Ensure full compliance with company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements as instructed by the Security Account Manager, in line with UK legislation.
• Complete all assigned site tasks as detailed in the current Assignment Instructions promptly and satisfactorily.
• Regularly review and suggest improvements to Assignment Instructions to enhance service delivery.
• Maintain required licences, including a front-line Security Guarding or Door Supervision licence worn at all times, plus the Customer-required CCTV PSS SIA Licence; fulfill any additional contractual training.
• Follow all legal and safety protocols pertinent to the role, acting methodically and respecting authority.

Training and Development

• Complete all mandatory competency training successfully.
• Engage in further training to support ongoing professional growth as directed by management.
• Utilise technology to meet work objectives and enhance job expertise through continuous learning.
• Ensure licence renewals are managed proactively, at least 16 weeks prior to expiry.

Security and Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Identify and report health and safety hazards immediately.
• Stay vigilant to risks or changes in the environment and act to minimize disruption or harm.
• Exercise common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation escalates to ensure safety.
• Maintain professional conduct when dealing with difficult circumstances and customers.
• Record detailed incident notes promptly to support official reporting processes.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
• Perform authorized check calls as per Assignment Instructions.
• Contact emergency services and communications team to report all incidents.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in security roles.
• Possession of a valid SIA Licence.
• Security Clearance (SC) is desirable but not mandatory.
