About the Role
Kroll's Economic Advisory team in Germany seeks a skilled Econometrician to join their ranks. This team supports major corporations, legal firms, financial institutions, and government agencies with domestic and international challenges such as antitrust cases, merger evaluations, damage assessments, commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, and arbitration globally. You will be part of a collaborative team comprising seasoned economists and industry specialists handling complex, high-impact cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Gathering, cleansing, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data to comprehend case details and strengthen arguments.
- Reviewing scholarly and applied economic literature along with case law to inform empirical and theoretical frameworks.
- Designing and implementing empirical and econometric analyses utilizing tools like Stata or comparable software.
- Ensuring rigorous accuracy of all analytical outputs.
- Preparing clear and concise presentations, memos, and reports that summarize analytical findings.
- Engaging in meetings and conference calls with clients to discuss progress and insights.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline with a strong empirical focus, preferably from a top-tier university.
- Proven experience with regression and econometric methods.
- Proficiency in statistical software packages such as Stata or R.
- Fluency in both English and German, spoken and written.
- Competence in competition or regulatory economics is advantageous and can position candidates for more senior roles.
- French language skills and familiarity with Mathematica or similar analytical platforms are beneficial.
