Ecommerce Specialist

Overview

Seeking a seasoned Ecommerce Specialist to oversee e-commerce operations, facilitate payment gateway integrations, and enhance online payment efficiency. The role encompasses operational assistance, troubleshooting, integration management, and ongoing upgrades to payment solutions, specifically using CyberSource and Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS).

Key Duties

• Oversee daily e-commerce operational activities.
• Assist merchants and internal business teams with inquiries related to e-commerce payments.
• Maintain detailed operational workflows and documentation.
• Communicate promptly during payment incidents or operational disruptions.
• Manage the day-to-day functioning of CyberSource and MPGS payment gateway platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve payment gateway problems in collaboration with merchant teams.
• Coordinate with development teams to implement and improve payment API integrations.
• Support and participate in testing processes.
• Validate payment flows on both web and mobile platforms.
• Examine API responses, error messages, and transaction logs to detect and fix integration issues.
• Facilitate the implementation of features including tokenization, 3D Secure authentication, and recurring payments.
• Ensure adherence to payment security standards, notably PCI DSS requirements.
• Assist in fraud monitoring and risk management initiatives.
• Follow established secure payment handling protocols and corporate policies.
• Collaborate closely with e-commerce teams, IT and development departments, banks, payment service providers, merchants, and other business stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Prior involvement in e-commerce operations, digital payments, or fintech sectors.
• Practical expertise with payment gateways such as CyberSource and MPGS.
• Comprehensive understanding of the card payment lifecycle phases: authorization, capture, settlement, refund, and reversal.
• Experience diagnosing and addressing payment transaction and integration issues.
• Familiarity with APIs, payment workflows, and online checkout procedures.
• Programming knowledge in PHP, Java, and .NET languages.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with e-commerce platforms and payment integration efforts.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and processing transaction logs.
• Knowledge of EMV 3DS protocols, tokenization methods, fraud detection tools, and payment security practices.
• Experience collaborating with banks, acquirers, and payment service providers.
• Exposure to supporting environments with high volumes of online commerce transactions.
