The Ecommerce Manager for the MENA region will lead the regional ecommerce business agenda, focusing on advancing commercial results, enhancing customer engagement, and building digital channel capabilities. This role entails full ownership of the ecommerce profit and loss (P&L), crafting growth initiatives, and collaborating with key retail partners to discover fresh market opportunities across Middle East and North Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete accountability for the ecommerce P&L in MENA, targeting revenue growth, profitability, and increased market share.
- Formulate and execute both annual operational plans and long-term growth strategies.
- Optimize channel assortment including pure-play ecommerce platforms, quick commerce services, and hybrid bricks-and-click models.
- Lead strategic partnerships with leading ecommerce retailers throughout MENA region.
- Manage joint business planning, commercial negotiations, and contractual renewals with key customers.
- Engage senior stakeholders within partner companies to foster profitable and sustainable growth opportunities.
- Drive ecommerce market expansion plans by onboarding new retailers, emerging digital platforms, and channels.
- Collaborate with local teams and distributors to accelerate adoption and penetration of ecommerce in diverse markets.
- Administer ecommerce budgets, including advertising spend and retail media investments.
- Develop and oversee investment plans in partnership with retailers and marketing agencies.
- Maximize retail media campaign effectiveness, enhance digital shelf management, and ensure measurable return on marketing expenditures.
- Supervise and mentor the regional ecommerce team, including an Ecommerce Manager for Saudi Arabia and potentially a new Operations Manager for the Gulf region.
- Expand distributor and market-level ecommerce competencies through training, standardization, and strategic alignment.
- Establish a community of practice across MENA to facilitate sharing of insights, standards, and best practices among markets.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience with a strong emphasis on commercial leadership in ecommerce sales.
- Proven track record of ecommerce P&L accountability, operational leadership, and customer negotiation within large multinational FMCG or CPG companies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
