Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in shaping and supporting the developmental journey of young children, including their emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural growth. This role involves delivering emergent curriculum tailored to each child, maintaining thorough records, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement an Emergent Curriculum that supports the individual developmental and learning needs of each child
• Keep precise daily logs, progress reports, and attendance documentation
• Create a safe, nurturing environment promoting children's emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural development
• Work collaboratively with external specialists such as Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists as needed
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, licensing guidelines, and required class ratios
• Engage actively in team meetings, professional learning sessions, and smooth classroom transitions

Required Qualifications

• Possess a valid Early Childhood Educator license issued by Nova Scotia
• Successfully complete and maintain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
• Hold current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (Level B or C)
• Be physically capable of safely pushing, pulling, or lifting items up to 45 pounds
