About the Role
The Duty Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the smooth day-to-day functioning of the hotel, ensuring all departments provide exceptional customer service. This position demands professionalism in managing various situations promptly in a dynamic environment while providing effective leadership to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually, dressed in the correct uniform complying with company grooming and appearance standards.
- Coordinate shift handovers by liaising with the incoming and outgoing managers to ensure seamless operations.
- Work closely with the General Manager to manage daily hotel operations efficiently.
- Provide supervision and support to multiple departments including Food & Beverage, reception, and accommodation, taking a proactive leadership approach.
- Communicate hotel amenities and services such as bar and restaurant hours, internet access, luggage assistance, etc. to guests during check-in and throughout their stay.
- Perform shifts within various hotel departments as required to support operations.
- Take responsibility alongside department heads for assigned duties, ensuring all departments operate at the highest standards with continuous training applied.
- Monitor staffing levels in cooperation with management to maintain adequate coverage aligned with budget and service needs.
- Assist with weekly stocktaking in areas such as laundry, alcohol, food supplies, and tableware as directed by the General Manager.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and courteously during shifts.
- Participate in required meetings and training sessions for ongoing professional development.
- Adhere to all company policies concerning fire safety, health and hygiene, and security protocols, including performing routine fire patrols and security checks.
- Ensure compliance with all cash handling procedures during your shift.
- Carry out occasional duties in other hotel areas as requested by management, complying with reasonable directions.
- Complete HACCP procedures and other system tasks on your shift to uphold food safety standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures strictly to maintain operational excellence.
