Driving Instructor

Overview

This role is focused on interviewing and evaluating drivers followed by practical road testing to ensure proficiency and safety. The instructor is responsible for training both new and current drivers in the safe and effective operation of buses, upholding stringent safety standards and compliance with relevant regulations. This position is critical to maintaining high-quality driver performance and safety adherence on the road.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver thorough training sessions for newly recruited drivers covering vehicle handling, safety measures, and organizational policies.
• Support compliance initiatives concerning driver licensing, qualifications, and endorsement requirements.
• Offer continuous coaching to enhance driving skills and safety consciousness among incumbent drivers.
• Assess driver capabilities via hands-on evaluations, providing actionable feedback for improvement.
• Ensure strict adherence to traffic laws and internal safety protocols during training and operational activities.
• Keep comprehensive documentation of training sessions, driver capabilities progress, and compliance records.
• Partner with leadership to design and update training curriculums tailored to operational demands.
• Lead investigations into traffic accidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
• Educate drivers on vehicle inspection procedures and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Conduct advanced driving technique sessions to elevate driver competence.
• Contribute actively to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs aimed at ongoing operational improvements.
• Remain informed about current and upcoming vehicle operation regulations affecting training and compliance.
