Driver/Yardperson

About the Role and Company

Electrohire, in partnership with leading construction and development companies across Australia, offers reliable construction equipment supported by a dedicated maintenance and service team. They are currently seeking a Driver/Yardperson to sustain efficient yard operations at their Sumner Park location.

Role Overview

This role centers on safe and professional equipment delivery and collection across South East Queensland, along with assisting with yard duties. The position involves extensive driving paired with tasks supporting a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely deliver and collect equipment from various customer sites throughout South East Queensland.
• Load, unload, and secure equipment properly for transit.
• Perform pre-start and basic equipment inspections prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Assist with equipment preparation, receipt, and organisation for dispatch.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and order within the yard.
• Support workshop and yard teams with general labour and daily operations.
• Operate forklifts and other machinery when appropriately licensed.
• Keep accurate delivery records and report damaged or faulty equipment promptly.
• Adhere consistently to safety standards and care for company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a current Medium Rigid (MR) Licence; having a Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence is highly desirable.
• Possess a clean and safe driving history alongside a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
• Experience working as a delivery driver, or within transport, yard, or warehouse settings.
• Possession of a forklift licence is preferred.
• Physically able and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
• Dependable, hardworking, and flexible to contribute wherever needed.
• Previous experience in construction, hire, or industrial sectors is an advantage.
• Positive mindset capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
