About the Role

DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in supply chain management with a presence in over 50 countries and a workforce of 188,000, is recruiting a Drivers Mate to support their HGV drivers in delivering goods safely and punctually. This position is based in Ipswich (IP1 5NX) and offers a permanent full-time contract with a Monday to Friday schedule (05:00 - 07:00) plus four compulsory Saturdays, totaling a 44-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing the selection and loading of alcohol products onto the given vehicle before deliveries.
  • Supporting and traveling with the HGV driver to assist with unloading goods at licensed establishments.
  • Maintaining communication with the transport team to report any issues encountered during operations.
  • Using an electronic handheld device to complete all necessary procedural documentation.

Candidate Profile

  • Physically capable of handling the frequent manual labor demands of the job.
  • Experienced in managing bulk orders or volume-based deliveries.
  • Strong organizational abilities to independently manage workload efficiently.
  • Competent in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Previous experience as a Driver's Mate or in a similar environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Desirable possession of a valid Category B driving license (car license).
  • No more than six driving penalty points on the license.
