Domino Administrator

Role Overview

This position is responsible for the complete administration and management of Domino servers and applications. Key duties include managing server configurations, replication processes, user accounts, and security certificates, as well as supporting Domino user activities and application workflows. The role involves troubleshooting application issues by utilizing Domino development tools and contributing to DevOps activities, including application promotion and process automation through scripting.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Domino servers and applications effectively.
• Oversee replication administration and provide ongoing support.
• Configure servers and optimize performance through fine-tuning.
• Utilize Domino server administration tools for maintenance tasks.
• Administer user and group accounts within the Domino environment.
• Research and implement DevOps tools ensuring segregation of duties compliance.
• Conduct server maintenance and oversee system upgrades.
• Manage planned security certificate installations and renewals.
• Monitor disk space and storage metrics continuously.
• Support DevOps functions and facilitate application promotions to production.
• Develop minor applications and scripts to improve data workflows and automate document updates.
• Provide user support for password resets, provisioning, and related requests.
• Perform application-specific administration for custom Domino applications.
• Serve as first-level support, including troubleshooting using the Domino Integrated Design Environment (IDE).

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience administering HCL Domino Servers version 14 or later.
• Competence in tasks aligned with the HCL Certified System Administrator – Notes and Domino certification, notably in installation, administration, networking, security, replication, messaging, and user management (certification preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience expanding Domino infrastructure incorporating clustering, advanced monitoring setups, and complex replication and mail routing topologies.
• Capability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic Domino environment with proactive and engaged approach.
• Strong knowledge of underlying server operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and AIX.
• Excellent customer service orientation paired with adept troubleshooting skills.
• IBM Domino application development knowledge is advantageous.
• Familiarity with relational database management systems (RDBMS) and their integration with HCL Domino is desirable.
• Willingness and availability to work beyond regular business hours when needed to support critical business operations or projects.
