Position Overview
We are seeking a Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our team at The Grange in Darlington. This permanent role focuses on maintaining a hygienic, clean, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. If you bring warmth, positivity, and creativity, and wish to enhance the daily lives of older adults, this position offers a meaningful opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises.
- Handle laundry tasks including collecting, sorting, washing, folding, ironing, and storing clothing, bed linens, towels, and other washable items.
- Operate laundry machines and pressing equipment efficiently and safely.
- Implement infection control policies and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Clean specified areas such as bedrooms, bathrooms, communal spaces, and kitchens by vacuuming, dusting, mopping, disinfecting, and disposing of waste.
- Restock supplies like soap, toilet paper, and paper towels as needed.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and safety protocols, and communicate any premises hazards or repair needs to supervisors.
