About the Role and Company
Nalco Water, a leader in water technology and part of Ecolab, is expanding its team to protect one of the world's most crucial resources. They are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to contribute to revenue and profit growth by managing programs and services for key accounts. This position involves a consultative sales strategy to foster relationships with existing clients and convert competitive opportunities by promoting innovative water treatment technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement sales strategies within current customer bases and targeted competitive accounts aiming for profit growth, dedicating about 20% of sales time to these activities.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their operational requirements and suggest continuous improvement plans to enhance sales and client satisfaction.
- Build strong connections with main stakeholders including plant and facility executives to support customer retention and expansion.
- Offer technical assistance by identifying and resolving client issues, escalating complex problems as necessary.
- Perform detailed system analyses, interpret operational data, and provide tailored recommendations to optimize client system performance.
- Promote and sell Nalco Water’s innovative technologies to sustain and develop long-term business relationships.
Training and Development
Nalco Water commits to your professional growth through comprehensive training programs held onsite and at their Naperville, IL headquarters, including product expertise, business knowledge, coaching, leadership development, classroom sessions, and certification opportunities. Travel required for training is covered by the company.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in technical or field sales supporting roles.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Note that immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences such as biology or chemistry.
- Experience in water treatment or specialty chemical industries.
- Familiarity with operating room (OR) procedures, wet end chemistry, and pulp mill operations is advantageous.
