Job description
Position Overview
The Distribution Inside Sales Representative is responsible for aiding Taoglas' distribution partners in meeting their revenue and margin objectives within designated territories. This role focuses on providing sales quoting support and other business assistance to nurture and grow relationships with assigned distributors. Collaboration with Corporate Channel Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, distribution representatives, and customer service teams is essential to developing sales accounts and securing sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate quotes and approved Design Registration numbers for the allocated distributors.
- Ensure detailed customer information is provided to Corporate and Regional Sales Managers for quote approvals through HubSpot and Point of Sale (POS) system research.
- Assist with monitoring distribution quotes, lead progression, and design registration pipelines to successfully advance opportunities through the sales channel.
- Analyze daily and weekly quote win/loss rates.
- Engage in follow-up calls concerning quotes and deals with distributors and the Corporate Manager.
- Evaluate leads by understanding customer needs, project feasibility, and decision-making structures.
- Maintain and update CRM records accurately, including leads and opportunity data.
- Familiarize with key customers, projects, and estimated revenues of each distributor.
- Develop professional and effective relationships primarily with Distributor Quote Specialists and other key personnel within assigned distribution accounts.
- Support Corporate Managers, Field Sales, and Customer Service in distributor-related escalations such as quotes, pricing issues, lead times, order verification, and design registrations.
- Participate in Distributor Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Comprehend distributor agreements, including clauses on stock rotations, new product introductions (NPI) returns, rescheduling, cancellations, and price protections.
- Attain comprehensive knowledge of all Taoglas product lines and RF services to respond effectively to inquiries from distributor sales teams and representatives.
- Analyze monthly POS reports and quarterly market share data from both Taoglas and assigned distributors.
- Address distributor issues promptly via phone or electronic communication methods.
- Continuously assess and identify opportunities that improve distributor processes and experiences.
- Maintain organized filing systems and communicate pertinent updates as needed.
- Ensure sales materials are sufficient and up to date.
- Offer after-sales support and assist the Global Director of Distribution with distributor complaints when necessary.
- Notify distributors proactively about any delays or complications.
- Monitor sales progress rigorously, detect areas needing improvement, and recommend enhancements.
- Contribute to data cleanup activities within HubSpot for assigned distributors.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in sales or within the distribution/electronics manufacturing sector.
- Preferred educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing.
- Possession of established industry contacts is advantageous.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot and SAP is preferred.
- Strong capabilities in strategic planning, organization, and project management, with a capacity to juggle multiple responsibilities and rapidly absorb new information.
- Competence in documenting meeting and call notes thoroughly to meet sales goals and deadlines.
- Proficiency in technology tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerBI, Teams, PowerPoint, HubSpot, Tacton, and SAP.
